LEARNING FROM DOGS
I find it quite interesting that a number of people in our neighborhood have two dogs. They started out with one, for companionship. But, found that they needed a second dog so that their dog would have companionship!
Now ~ let’s get this straight. The owner got the dog for companionship. But, the dog was not satisfied with the human companionship of the owner. Seems as though dogs understand better than some people.
When God opened Adam’s breast and made a companion for him from a rib, He didn’t create a dog! Neither did He create another man! He created a woman! Male and female created He them.
Here’s another "spin."
Can two walk together, unless they are agreed? - Amos 3:3
The schisms in the body of Christ demonstrate how fragile human agreement can be. We can go along together for years, and then have a falling out because we disagree on some issue, value or doctrine. And, it’s all over.
Paul unveils the root of this problem: You are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like mere men (I Corinthians 3:3)?
Spiritual authority is reserved for the mature: If two of you agree on earth concerning anything they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven (Matthew 18:19).
Mature believers keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace (Ephesians 4:3). They ~ two or more ~ symphonize in the revelation that is given by the Holy Spirit. This is the true basis for agreement. All else is not worth fighting over.
By the way, did you realize that male dogs do not normally fight with female dogs? Neither do female dogs fight with male dogs. Male dogs will fight each other, as will female dogs.
